"The coaches at Hunger in the Wild identified the form issues almost immediately. These were very technical deficiencies that no coach had ever addressed before, including ankle mobility, wrist mobility, and lower back or lumbar strength. Not only were these issues identified immediately but I was given specific instructions and coaching on how to help improve my form. This included mobility exercises, variations of each lift, and changes to my everyday movements at the office and how I carried things. This knowledge and attention to detail are what set the programming at HITW apart from other gyms. The focus is on longevity and not simply trying to lift heavier weights (even though that is one of the results)."
"I’ve significantly increased the amount of weight I can move on each of the 4 primary powerlifts. At my prior gym I was stuck and used the same weight for almost an entire year; I started to think that was as strong as I was going to get. It turns out this wasn’t the case thanks to the coaches at HITW. They worked with me on my form and tweaked the programming to help me improve. The conditioning workouts are also demanding but have benefits too. I ran a Tough Mudder race last year and the obstacles weren’t tough because the conditioning classes had prepared me to be able to swing on monkey bars or carry a loaded sandbag."
"I've always been an active person. As far as workouts go, I've done them all. Kettlebell, spinning, running, biking, barre, yoga, kickboxing, etc. I realized a few years ago that what I really enjoy is strength training with a little bit of conditioning (please don't make me run!). "Heard about Hunger in the Wild through a friend and finally decided to check it out because I had been wanting to learn Olympic lifting but didn't know where to start. This is definitely the place. Great no-frills gym atmosphere with plenty of lifting platforms and bumper weights. Kyle, the owner, was very friendly and welcoming and personally worked with me for over an hour. I can't say enough about his teaching style and expertise - very impressive. Great guy too. Also a great group of regulars and newcomers made it a great experience all around - I'll definitely be back. “I came to Hunger In The Wild as a “self taught weightlifter” quickly learned that my technique needed some overhaul to really progress my competitiveness with the sport. Within a month my lifts were more crisp and technically sound because I was actually able to put the strength I had into the barbell. The lifts are becoming second nature and missing lifts is starting to be a rare occurrence. Overall Kyle has made twice the weightlifter I could have became on my own and it seems like I am only getting better every time I train at HITW.
